| Holiday Wishlist Thing |

I'm sitting here and trying to figure out what I can put on this thing here. But oh well is wish list right? I can dream.
1. Things to read. Anything. My to read pile is fairly wittled down, at least online reading. But yes, anything to read. My only real squick is chan. Rec lists, fic written just for me. .pdfs or .lits of absolutely anything, comics, used books (though ~cringe~ shipping feel like an ass even mentioning that on the books). fandom wise it doesn't matter if it's something I dabble in or not--I read a helluva lot more fandoms than I write in which yeah says a lot. Original I'm all over the board as well. So yeah. Horror, romance, fantasy, slash, het, gen, anything.
2.Music. burned cd, mp3s. anything. everything. country, metal, punk, classic rock, classical, blues, jazz, basically anything but rap and bubblegum. Tons and tons of my stuff is unfortunately on ready to die cassettes, especially the older metal stuff, having a listenable copy til I can eventually replace would be cool. or something new to check out that I haven't gotten to hear yet. (~snorts~ I have children and live out where there's minimal radio so uhm, if it's not mainstream country and released within the last 15 years? it could be new to me. When I get the chance to buy, I go for what I know I'm going to love or replacing ancient cassettes because sorry don't have 10-15 to gamble on huh wonder what this is like or even just knowing/recognizing one song)
3. uhm...old Nintendo Gamecube games. Seriously as long as the gamedisk isn't scratched up unplayable, I don't care if the game is in a jewelcase you by 50 in a pack from walmart, while the booklets and what not are nice. the disc itself in good condition is all that counts, we'll figure it out ~laughs~. My boys are game nuts, and I have fun with it too. What we have is a Gamecube. (they each have a gameboy--mostly bought used and we've got one NintendoDS as far as the personal handhelds go) But the gamecube is everyone pile on mom and dad's bed or on the couch and waste the afternoon. We have Paper Mario, a couple Spyros, a Crash Bandicoot, couple Donkey Kongs, couple Harry Potters, a couple Tak, a Lego Starwars (w/ObiWan & Anakin in it) ~rolls eyes~ some football and hockey (I haz boys) ShadowRealm Pokemon (or something like that I don't pay attention to the pokemon) Kid1 is 14 next month (yikes) middle boys are 10 next month and 9 in March. Boo loves watching the games and is starting to want to pick at the controller, considering playing himself. TheGirl, well she loves the stupid Catz game she has for the DS and mostly likes laughing at Kid1 when he loses his life and it's mom's turn. I love Mario and Spyro and Crash and stuff like that. They absolutely love the Zelda they got for the gameboy, my hands and that little screen don't get along too well for that. Gametime with mom is one of our things around here. And finding something new to play as far as the gamecube goes is getting tough at the gamestore that sells the used ones. (~laughs~ yes I'm seriously talking used games, I think we've got five that were bought new and those were on clearance, the damn things cost way too much and this system doesn't even have new-release games made for it much if at all anymore) Teen-rated--eh, depends on what the ratings for. Fantasy violence like the Lord of the Rings game we got, fine no problem. Guns, hookers, street thug criminal crap like Grand Theft Auto, No. (Yes, there is difference in context of gore, and the trash/smut nope) New-to-us games for gaming with mom would be cool. Anything from Disney/little kiddish (play for Boo type stuff) to Fantasy-Teen me & Kid1 can play when the younger ones are crashed would be adored. Crappy cold winter weather generally results in a blanket, pillow & body pile around the gamecube ~laughs~
4. Okay completely ridiculous wish. I don't have an amazon wishlist or anything like that, mostly because I don't bother daydreaming of shopping but, uhm, TV Series Season Box sets? (used, torrent burned onto disk I didn't say that cool) What I have? Dresden Files, Mag7 S1&2, Miracles, Buffy S6, Angel S1, SG1 S1,S2, S6,S7,S8, Supernatural S1, S2 (and getting S3 for Xmas from mommy :D) SGAtlantis S3, Tudors S1 and CSI Vegas S1. What I'd love/have on my little mental someday when I can list? Highlander, CSI (all incarnations) NCIS, Robin Hood (both the new on BBC w/Jonas Armstrong and the 80s with Michael Pare and Jason Connery) Torchwood, any Stargate SG1 or SGA seasons (mom got a SGA for hub for xmas but I don't know which) I don't have or the related movies. Eureka. Mmm... I've seen enough of Sarah Connor Chronicles, Primeval & even Sanctuary for all it's brand new that yeah they're on the eventually list. er...~shrugs~
5. icons, graphics/art for my fic, wallpapers, ~shrugs~ any pretties. I like pretties.
6. pointings to interesting sites/blogs/whatevers. either useful-ish stuff for writing reference (which ~laughs~ covers just about any subject really) or just interesting. Nothing flash-graphics heavy. Odds are I won't get it to load.
7. go pick a name off of one of the Angel trees at the stores and buy for the kiddo.
8. If you live somewhere cold? Go spend about 10 bucks on 50cent hat and mittens from the dollar store and take them to a Headstart or a shelter or one of the churches in the area that are known for giving out stuff like that, spend 10 bucks on canned and boxed stuff at the grocery story and drop it at the nearest food pantry.
9. brushes/image tubes. I have psp9. tons of awesome brushes and such I see on like icon_extras and other graphic coms on LJ but are for PS7-CS3 and the formats don't work. Clear/transparent/no background .png's of brushes or images (w/note of their maker of course so I can credit properly in resource list) however are fantastic. Clear background png's are easily converted into psp brushes or tubes. Too often image packs for the PS/CS brushes I see end up being white background jpgs which doesn't work for converting. Anything seriously. lyrics, squiggles, splatters, masks, *anything* just something new to work with, any size icon or larger. Images of *anything* (animals, flowers, trees, castles, fantasy images) just the object on clear background .png for picture tubes would be lovely too.
10. caps. specifically in zips or rars that are 20-25mb or less, and somewhere I can take my time dl'ding them like mediafire because my connection doesn't always behave and sometimes takes 2-5 attempts to get a zip (20mb is usually not a trauma grabbed. 20-40mb doable, much over that is semi-miraculous and the best caps seem to be in files of 200mb+ when I come across them on ). of anything. something to play with icons and wallpapers and whatever. caps of anything. seriously. tv eps, music videos, movies whatever. fandoms I've played in before or not. (off the top of my head ones I haven't played in that I really like what little bits I've gotten to see--Robin Hood, Primeval, Sanctuary, Sarah Connor Chronicles. Merlin sounds interesting) Ooo pretty is all the more I have for fiddling with graphics requirements. |
